Downtown weddings move differently than venue weddings. You are in and out of rooms, onto sidewalks, around corners, and the city hands you texture you would otherwise have to build — brick, old glass, the particular way Court Street holds light in July. I shot this one loose on purpose so the film keeps that walking-around feeling instead of flattening into a set of posed frames.
HB Photography and I have worked enough weddings together by now that we barely discuss angles anymore. We just read the room and stay out of each other's shots, which means nobody in the wedding party ever waits on either of us.
