A July wedding in Sheffield, Alabama. Lily and Will Rushing were married at York Bluff Baptist Church, then celebrated a few minutes away at George's 217 in downtown Sheffield.
Church to ballroom is one of my favorite shapes for a wedding film. The sanctuary asks you to work quiet and stay out of the aisle, so the ceremony carries the room's own stillness. Then the doors open at the reception and the whole thing turns loud and warm in about ninety seconds. Cutting between those two moods is where a film starts to feel like the day actually felt.
Vows come straight off wireless mics, every word intact — in a room with that much ceiling, clean audio is the difference between remembering what they said and just remembering that they said something. McKenzie Rue Photography covered the day alongside me.
