An early-autumn ceremony at The Owls' Landing in Killen, Alabama. Sheldon and Garrett Butler said their vows under the open-air pavilion, then closed the night out under sparklers.
The Owls' Landing gives you two very different stages in one property — a renovated barn and an open-air pavilion — and this wedding used both. An open-air ceremony means real wind and real ambient sound, which is exactly why I put wireless mics on the officiant and run backup recorders: Sheldon and Garrett's vows came through clean enough to carry the whole middle of the film. The sparkler exit at the end did what sparkler exits do on camera, which is look better than anyone expects.
Weeks later, Sheldon sent a message I've kept: "Our wedding video was so amazing... I'm so glad I have something to look back on for memories." That's the point of the whole thing.
“I just wanted to tell you our wedding video was so amazing!! It was absolutely perfect and I wanted to thank you for doing that for us. I'm so glad I have something to look back on for memories!!”
